You need a professional account rather than the default personal account to live stream on Instagram from your desktop.
Once you log into your Instagram account, click More at the left panel.
Click Settings.
Scroll down the Settings column to select Account type and tools.
Click, Switch to professional account.
Business and Creator accounts are the two additional categories into which the professional account of Instagram is separated. Both provide comparable features, but they target different user bases.
- Creator account is best for influencers, public figures, content creators, and artists who focus on building a personal brand and engaging with their audience.
- Business Account suits brands, businesses, and anyone looking to promote products or services on Instagram.
In this demonstration, we'll choose the Creator before clicking Next at the bottom.
You can see the Instagram Creator account is best for public figures, content producers, artists, and influencers.
Click Next.
Select a category, and click Done.
You've successfully switched to the Instagram professional account.
Click Done.
